Kodomo no Hi Japan Festival 2012

We arrived early to this year’s Kodomo no Hi, avoiding the long queues for food later on in the day. Taiyaki, green tea mochi, okonomiyaki

The event showcased the Japanese culture, such as calligraphy, origami and ikebana (flower arrangement). Calligraphy, origami, ikebana

We especially liked the railway models. My friend noticed a ‘person’ had fallen over! Railway model

Before we left we bought a few greeting cards, handmade using Japanese paper. Cards

As it was a children’s festival, it was full of kids walking around in kimonos. How cute!
