Australian, Outings | 13 CommentsIt may be flippant to some, but the Bankstown Children’s Festival would have to be one of the most memorable yearly festivals for me here in Sydney. This year, on the tenth anniversary of the festival, the day was ineluctably hot (a scorching 30 degrees on the eve of spring) and the teeny boppers were plentiful. …continue reading "Bankstown Children’s Festival 2008".

Family, Vietnamese | 27 CommentsMy maternal grandfather, whom I call 公 (pronounced Ah Gong in Teochew), was diagnosed with lung cancer a few months ago.
As such, he had extreme hemoptysis just after my two-week holiday break. Knowing that his condition was starting to worsen, Mum and her siblings haphazardly visited him in Soc Trang.
